Hepatitis B is a deadly virus, there are around 360 million people infected with hepatitis virus. But till date there is no any treatment available for permanent cure as of now.
However, as per advanced research studies, the current HBV treatments interfere with a specific part of the viral lifecycle stopping the virus from replicating and spreading as well.
Ensure that, none of the current therapies stop viral replication completely today which is already we have discussed. But there is a solution, that can be able to slow down the replication of virus and control the enough to reduce the risk of liver cancer or failure as well as other diseases caused by HBV infection.
But the question is, how do you know I am cured from the Hepatitis B infection? Simply, the answer is when no HBV DNA or proteins can be detected in the blood months after treatment stops, then the patient is considered the person is functionally cured only not fully.
How much medications you are taking to clear hepatitis infection, but still there is a small amount of the virus can still lie in the body which is called the virus is in negative mode, virus blocked already and unable to replicate at the moment and you can say that the virus is in sleeping mode. But that can be woken up anytime, to control that he patient required the anti-viral medication treatment that suppress the immune system.
There are 2 Types of Treatment going on at the Moment:
1) Nucleot(s)ide Analogues
One uses Nucleot(s)ide Analogues molecules that block the viral DNA from replicating inside the host cells.
2) Interferons
The other involves flooding the body with proteins called interferons, which switch on the body’s natural immune defences against the virus.
However, a patient receiving interferon treatment must have a dose injected each week for a year. But unfortunately, this treatment is difficult on the body, causing flu-like symptoms for days after it’s been administered, which can have disabling complications for work, social and family life.
