Fatty liver is one of the most issue in these days. This is because of our unhealthy lifestyle and foods. Grade 3 fatty liver disease is the most severe form of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease called NAFLD. It is associated with a large accumulation of fat in the liver in the long period.
Grade 3 fatty liver disease means just a stage before fibrosis a person has a large percentage of fat deposited in their liver. Grade 3 NAFLD occurs when a person’s liver contains a percentage of fat greater than 66% or more and severe inflammation.
How to know I have grade 3 fatty liver disease?

Fatty liver diseases progress through three stages:
- Your liver becomes inflamed swollen, which damages its tissue. This stage is called steatohepatitis.
- After long period, it is converted into scar tissue forms where your liver is damaged. This process is called fibrosis.
- Extensive scar tissue replaces healthy tissue. At this point, you have cirrhosis of the liver.
What causes grade 3 fatty liver disease?
Research said, fatty liver is the cause of several factors of issues in the body that can increase a person’s risk of developing following conditions:
- High cholesterol or high triglycerides formed in the blood.
- Once you have grade 3 fatty liver and going on in the long term it means it will cause the type 2 diabetes or insulin resistance.
- Obesity, having overweight than your BMI.
- People living with fatty liver is the cause of metabolic syndrome or a higher risk of NAFLD.
What is Metabolic Syndrome?
Metabolic syndrome is a group of conditions that traits linked to overweight and obesity. There are different types of traits include:
- High levels of triglycerides in the body
- Increased waist size day by day
- Low levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol
- High blood glucose levels in the body
- Type 2 diabetes
- High blood pressure
